Redmi Note 11s First Impression
As Xiaomi continues to release new phones at an incredible rate, its smartphone portfolio is confusing. Redmi Note 11S and Redmi Note 11S, which complete the Redmi 11 Generation, are the most recent additions. There aren’t any new Pro or Pro Max models available in this series. However, the Redmi Note 11S could provide what you need, but at a lower cost.
Redmi Note 11S has 4G connectivity and the Redmi Note 11S’s crowning feature is its main camera, which is 108 megapixels. It is worth noting that Xiaomi managed to make this smartphone available at a very competitive starting price of only Rs. 16,499. The Redmi Note 11S’s other features also match what you would expect from a phone of this class in 2022. There is still much testing to do before our full review can be completed. Here’s a quick look at the Redmi Note 11S.
The rear camera module is almost identical to the Redmi Note 11T5G’s design. This phone was released just a few months back at the same price. The Redmi Note 11S does not have the same design illusion as the Redmi Note 11T5G. Instead, it has four camera sensors. Apart from the main 108-megapixel sensor the Note 11S also has an 8-megapixel ultra-wide camera and a 2-megapixel depth camera. The 16-megapixel self-portrait camera with hole-punch cutouts on the front features a chrome ring that makes it very visible.
My opinion is that Xiaomi has gone a bit too easy with design. The Redmi Note 11S is very boring in design. Although the red and white colors might be more prominent, the black unit I received seems very boring. While I like matte finishes on phones, as they are more resistant against fingerprints, dust and smudges are easily visible on my Redmi Note 11S’s rear panel. Although the body is constructed entirely from plastic, it feels solid. Xiaomi has preserved the headphone jack and included an IR emitter.
Redmi Note 11S has a 6.43 inch full-HD+ AMOLED LCD. This is an upgrade to the Note 11T 5G’s LCD panel. It boasts a 90Hz refresh rate, a claimed peak brightness of up to 1,000nits, and a peak brightness of approximately 915nits. OLED panels have many advantages, including deeper blacks and wider color gamuts, that should improve video-watching experiences. Redmi phones now have stereo speakers as a standard feature.
Redmi Note 11S runs on the MediaTek Helio G96 SOC. We’ve seen it in phones such as the Realme 8i. It is also expected that the Realme Narzo 50 will be powered by this SoC. It is based on an older 12nm fabrication technology, so it isn’t as power-efficient as recent Dimensity SoCs or the Qualcomm Snapdragon732G that powered the Redmi Note 10 Pro. However, it’s a fairly powerful SoC and we’ll be testing it in the full review.
Redmi Note 11S is available with 6GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, and Rs. 16,499. 16,499. Next is the variant with 6GB and 128GB of RAM, which is priced starting at Rs. 17499 followed by the top-end variant, which comes with 8GB of RAM, 128GB of storage and is priced at R. India: 18,499
A dedicated microSD card slot allows for expansion of the internal storage. Redmi Note 11S is powered by a 5,000mAh lithium battery and can be charged at 33W. An adapter charger is included in the box. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor is included, as well as an IP53 rating to protect against dust and water. The box comes with MIUI 13, which is Android 11-based.
The Redmi Note 11S is well-built, sturdy, and durable in the time I’ve used it. I find the bland design a little unappetizing, but it isn’t a problem if you will be carrying a case. I am most concerned about how the Redmi Note 11S can fit into Xiaomi’s existing product line. The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G launch seems inevitable. It has been revealed globally and may soon arrive in India under a new name, the Redmi Note 11E. Redmi Note 10 Pro offers more features than the Redmi Note 11S and is available if you are looking for a 4G-only Redmi phone.
It will be quick and show no sign of slowing down according to my experience. I used the variant with 8GB RAM to test as well as the 4GB RAM upgrade option was activated by default. You will able to multitask across multiple apps with ease, and thanks to my usage, I never needed to stop apps running within the background. The apps loaded fast. The speaker on the bottom was loud, however, having a stereo system is always more effective. Vivo’s side-mounted fingerprint scanner is reliable and only required one tap to unlock the phone. The fingerprint recognition was also consistent during the time of the review. In overall look Xiaomi will counter it’s competitor on each front by this awesome variant.
