OnePlus Nord CE 2 Review

OnePlus Nord CE 2 Review

OnePlus has unveiled an update to its Nord CE, simply called the Nord CE 2. It’s still an entry-level price that is quite low however, it has several minor enhancements which could lead to a better experience for users. But, the market for this product has never been more fierce. Every major brand has extremely competitive offerings, with the most recent being that of the Realme 9 Pro+ which has a top-of-the-line main camera.

Price

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 is available in the 6GB range at just Rs. 23,999 and 8GB of RAM at the price of Rs. 24,999. There’s no 12GB model on this handset. Both versions of the OnePlus Nord CE 2 have 128GB of storage. In contrast to the Nord CE, storage on this phone is expandable due to the microSD card slot that is located in the SIM tray. The phone comes in Bahama Blue and Gray Mirror colors.

Design

The OnePlus Nord CE 2 looks distinct from its predecessor, the Nord CE, and by different, I’m talking about slightly more expensive. It looks like its predecessor, the Oppo Reno 7. It’s still an aluminum frame, however, its back panels are composed out of Corning Gorilla Glass 5, similar to the display. The only downside to this glossy surface is that it’s a massive fingerprint magnet.

There’s the distinctive OnePlus alert slider on CE models However, it’s a good thing that OnePlus has retained the headphone, Jack. There’s also the USB Type-C connector and only one speaker at the bottom. It’s the OnePlus Nord CE 2 still comes with the 6.43-inch AMOLED screen with 90Hz maximum refresh rate and is now HDR10+-certified. The display sports a high-quality chin, and the bezels on the remainder of the screen are also noticeable. The phone has a comfortable feel in the hand and appears robust and well constructed. It’s small (7.8mm) and lightweight (173g) and light (173g) and is user-friendly.

Specification

The specifications for the OnePlus Nord CE 2 have improved and, once more you’ll notice that the phone has a lot of similarities with its predecessor, the Oppo Reno 7. It comes with the much more robust MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC. More than resultant performance enhancement I’m pleased to see the support of eight bands for 5G in India in comparison to one band on Nord CE. Nord CE.

Its OnePlus Nord CE 2 also comes with other improvements, such as an expansion of storage by way of a microSD slot that is dedicated. It has Wi-Fi 6. Bluetooth 5.2 as well as support for fast charging of 65W which is compared to 30W on the original model. The phone isn’t complete on stereo speakers as well as an IP score, however, given its cost as well as other options, it’s possible to leave these features off.

Performance

Performance was never an issue on it. It was a great device for the OnePlus Nord CE and is certainly not an issue for CE 2. CE 2. It comes with OxygenOS 11.3 from the box, not 12. but it is the same version as was the one that the OnePlus 9RT was launched with. There are numerous gestures and shortcuts that you can explore and the overall experience was fluid and fast. It’s a great phone to play with. Nord CE 2 will get two years of Android updates, and 3 years worth of security updates according to OnePlus. The device also includes Google’s stock messaging and dialer applications as well as call recording enabled while on a call.

The fingerprint sensor on the display functioned extremely well, and facial recognition was very fast. Videos generally looked excellent on the OnePlus Nord CE 2’s screen. Colors were bright and vibrant, with excellent intensity and the brightness was well-balanced. I observed a slight blue tint on certain areas of the display while viewing content that had white backgrounds off-axis however for the majority of uses it wasn’t an issue.

Camera

The camera on OnePlus Nord CE 2 has identical specifications to the cameras in the previous phone. It has a main camera of 64 megapixels and an ultra-wide 8-megapixel camera, as well as a 2-megapixel macro camera in the back. In the front, there’s the 16-megapixel selfie camera. This camera application has gone through changes and is now identical to the ones we’ve used in Oppo phones. There’s also an AI scene enchantment switch, that should be disabled because it boosts colors to unnatural levels. It was also a bit expensive. Nord CE 2 also gets the Bokeh Flare Portrait filter that was introduced in the Oppo Reno 7 series for video and stills, however, it’s limited to 720p resolution only.

Conclusion

It’s the OnePlus Nord CE 2 is great to update to the previous model and if you’ve never purchased the original model and you’re looking for a new one, then the current model is worth purchasing. It’s a cheaper Oppo Reno 7 without the annoying apps, which isn’t an expensive bargain. Nord CE 2 Nord CE 2 offers a high-end design, excellent performance, long-lasting battery and a very quick charging speed, and a good camera for photography. Video recording isn’t its forte however, other than this, it’s difficult to find fault with it.
