Vivo T1 5G Review

Vivo’s T-series smartphones are targeted at Gen Z consumers. Vivo emphasizes that Gen Z customers are looking for products with good specs at a reasonable cost. Vivo has announced its Vivo T1 5G at a sub-Rs. price range, that is brimming with new 5G smartphones coming from various manufacturers. Which one do you think Vivo T1 be the best choice for you? We take a closer review of the device with this test.

 

Price

The Vivo T1 starts at Rs. 15,990 in India. The base model that is available at this price comes with a capacity of 4GB RAM. Two other variations are part of Vivo T1, the Vivo T1, which offers 8GB and 6GB of RAM. Both cost the price of Rs. 16,990 and Rs. 19,990 respectively. Storage capacity is identical for all three phones, with 128GB. It is available in two colors. Vivo T1 is offered in two color options: Rainbow Fantasy and Starlight Black.

 

Design

The Vivo T1-5G is the latest design language, that has flat sides around. It’s very easy to hold the phone and the rounded corners won’t scratch your palms. Vivo has created the T1 5G slim at 8.25mm and its weight of 187g is easily manageable. It features a huge display with a dewdrop-shaped notch that looks old as compared to other phones within this category that has hole-punch displays. It sports thin bezels on the sides, and the chin is more substantial.

 

The T1 5G comes with a plastic frame that houses the volume and power buttons on the right. Vivo is integrating the scanner for fingerprints in the volume button making unlocking the phone easy. The left side is unlocked and the top is home to the SIM tray as well as a secondary microphone. On the bottom, the T1 5G comes with the 3.5mm headphone connector, USB Type-C port, loudspeaker, and primary microphone.

 

Specification

Vivo has concentrated on certain specifications to attract Gen Z buyers. The Vivo T1 5G sports a 6.58-inch LCD with a maximum refresh rate of 120Hz rate, and Panda glass to protect. Also, you get a maximum speed of 240Hz for touch sampling when the device is on the game. The display can be set as Smart Switch by default, which allows it to change from 60Hz and 90Hz and 120Hz rate of a refresh.

 

The T1 5G runs its Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC that also powers rivals like The Moto G71 5G. Vivo claims that it has built the vapor cooling chamber to keep the SoC from overheating when under stress. The company also has the option of expanding RAM which allows you to utilize 1GB of storage for RAM in the base version The higher versions permit 2GB and 4GB of RAM to be utilized, respectively.

 

Although 128GB of internal storage seems a bit generous, however, you can increase the capacity by using a microSD card that is inserted into the hybrid dual-SIM slot. Vivo T1 Vivo T1 packs in a capacity of 5,000mAh and supports 18W charging, which is slower than other brands offer. Vivo comes with an 18W charger inside the box.

 

Performance

It was quick and showed no sign of slowing down according to my experience. I used the variant with 8GB RAM to test as well as the 4GB RAM upgrade option was activated by default. I was able to multitask across multiple apps with ease, and thanks to my usage, I never needed to stop apps running within the background. The apps loaded fast. The speaker on the bottom was loud, however, having a stereo system is always more effective. Vivo’s side-mounted fingerprint scanner is reliable and only required one tap to unlock the phone. The fingerprint recognition was also consistent during the time of the review.

 

In the past, having tried using the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 SoC on a different smartphone I had a good idea of the performance. However, I did run some benchmarks to determine what the Vivo 5G compares. It scored 414,287 in AnTuTu this is more than those of the Moto G71 5G’s result. The two phones did the same in most other tests. In Geekbench 5’s single-core and multi-core tests, the 5G scored 668, and the 1,930, respectively. It also achieved 85fps and 18fps in the GFXBench’s T-Rex as well as Car Chase benchmarks respectively.

 

Camera

The Vivo 5G features three cameras in the back. It features the primary camera of 50-megapixel and a macro camera of 2 megapixels as well as a 2-megapixel depth sensor. For selfies, it comes with a 16-megapixel camera. Its camera application is simple and easy to use. The modes of shooting are easily switched by just swiping. The toggle for macro cameras is difficult to overlook making it an option for shooting that could have been more effective.

 

Vivo claims to have the Super Night mode for low-light photography and portrait Styles as filters which you can apply when taking portrait photos. The odd thing is that these features aren’t available on the basic 4GB version. The model also doesn’t have dual camera bokeh and is based on one camera instead.
