Vivo V25 5G Review: When Style Meets Camera

Vivo just released the Vivo V25 5G, its newest smartphone in the V series. The brand always pays attention to how the phone looks and how well the camera works, and the Vivo V25 5G is no different. The back of the phone changes colors and gives it a high-end look. It arrives with a strong processor and a 90Hz AMOLED screen to make the user experience smooth. You also get support for 44W quick charging, which is nice.

In India, there are two different kinds of Vivo V25 5G. The base model, which has 8GB RAM and 128GB storage, costs Rs. 27,999. At the same time, the most expensive model costs 31,999 and has 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. The phone comes in two different colors: Elegant Black and Surfing Blue. Vivo V25 Design and build

Let’s start with the way it looks. The Vivo V25 5G has a stylish look that might seem normal to you, but there’s more to it. When you put it out in the sun, something magical happens. It has a back panel that changes color and absorbs light so that it gets darker when the sun shines on it.

I’m reviewing the Surfing Blue color version, which looks amazing. The back is made of plastic and has a smooth, frosted glass finish that sparkles when light hits it. The fine matter about this is that it doesn’t get dirty quickly.

The phone has flat edges and rounded corners, which give it a high-end look and make it easy to hold. It weighs only 186g and is 7.79mm thick, so it is not too big. On the back, you will see a big camera unit with two big lenses and one small lens.

Vivo V25 Camera

There are 3 cameras on the rear of the Vivo V25 5G. This includes the main camera with 64MP OIS, an ultra-wide lens with 8MP, and a macro sensor with 2MP. On the front, there is a 50MP camera for taking selfies. Vivo does its best with its cameras, and we can also see that here.

The main camera takes good pictures with lots of details when it’s light out. The images were clear and sharp, with a wide range of light and dark. Close to natural colors were used. I had trouble focusing on the subject because, for some reason, the lens kept going out of focus.

Portrait mode was likewise good. The subject stood out from the background, but sometimes the corners of the subject were also blurry. The portrait shots were clear and sharp, and the colors were true. The ultra-wide images were just decent. It got more of the area but less of the details. The pictures I took were soft and fuzzy around the edges, even though the colors in the pictures were kept well.

Vivo V25 Battery Charging

Regarding the battery, the Vivo V25 has a 4500mAh battery, which is a good size. I know this is less than the other smartphones in this price range can do, but it’s still good enough.

This phone can easily last for a full day of light use. The phone might even last for light users until the afternoon of the next day. Normal use gave me about 6 hours of screen time. I used it to scroll through Instagram, play games, and watch some YouTube videos.

The V25 can fast charge at 44W, which is less than what its competitors can do. These days, phones under 30K come with fast charging support for 60W, 80W, and even 120W, but Vivo chose to go with far less 44W support. Anyway, it takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes for the 44W charger to fully charge the phone from 0% to 100%.

Vivo V25 Display

The Vivo V25 has an AMOLED screen that is FHD+ and 6.44 inches in size. Its refresh rate is 90Hz, and its brightest point is 1300 nits. The screen obtains smart enough to be seen outside. In the settings for the screen, you can also change the refresh rate.

You can set the refresh rate to a standard 60Hz, a fast 90Hz, or a mode called “Smart Switch,” which instantly sets the refresh rate based on how the device is used and how much power it uses. Because it’s an AMOLED screen, its colors are bright and clear. Both the text and the app icons are very clear. At the top, you will see a notch that looks like a water drop.

The bezels around the screen are thin, but the chin at the bottom is a bit thicker. This doesn’t change anything about how fun it is to watch. I had more fun playing games and watching videos on my Vivo V25. The phone is HDR10+ certified, so you can observe HDR content on apps that support it.

Vivo V25 Performance

The MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset runs the Vivo V25, which has up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. Using the internal storage, you can add another 8GB of virtual RAM, for a total of 16GB RAM. I don’t believe this will create a big difference in your performance, so get rid of it.

The phone works well and does everyday tasks without any problems. I didn’t notice any stutters or delays when I used the phone. The apps loaded quickly, and switching between them was easy.

In terms of numbers, the phone scored 709 for performance on a single core and 2030 for performance on multiple cores. It was now time to play games. I played popular titles like Call of Duty Mobile, Apex Legends Mobile, and Asphalt 9. On high to medium settings, all three games worked perfectly.

Vivo V25’s software and user interface

Funtouch OS 12, which would be based on Android 12 12, is what the Vivo V25 uses. Funtouch OS 12 gives you a lot of ways to customize and make it your own. The user interface was easy to understand and use.

You can change the UI color and the Always On Display, Themes, and Wallpaper. Standard Android 12 characteristics like Privacy Dashboard and Digital Wellbeing are also available. You can view which applications have permission to do what and also manage those permissions.

You also get things like One-Handed mode, Smart Motion, Quick Action, and more. With Smart Motion, you can turn on features like the flashlight by gestures. You can use Quick Action to do something by pressing and holding the volume down button.

Vivo V25 Audio, Connections, and Biometrics

The Vivo V25 has a single speaker that fires from the bottom and makes a good sound. The sound from the speaker was clear and could get pretty loud. But I would have liked it if Vivo had given me a stereo speaker set. In terms of coverage, the V25 5G has 5G connectivity that works with 5 different 5G bands. This included n1, n3, n41, n77, and n78. Dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS are also ways to connect.

Conclusion

The Vivo V25 is a good phone with a pretty design that changes colors. Because of this one thing, the phone stands out from the rest. It also works well, doesn’t lag, and has a great main camera. I wish Vivo had given me a 120Hz screen, but the 90Hz works just fine.

Also, 44W fast charging charges the battery quickly, giving you a good backup. Overall, the Vivo V25 5G is a good smartphone for less than Rs.30,000, but there are many other options in this price range. It’s a great choice if you require a device that looks high-end and has good cameras.
