Review Of The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 – High Productivity

Every year, Samsung has gotten pretty good at putting out new flagship phones that can be folded. The Galaxy Z Fold4 is the fourth revision of Samsung’s first device that you can fold in half. When you use the phone, you can see that Samsung has made many changes.

The Z Fold 4 has 12GB of RAM and the top-of-the-line chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1. It also has the same 50MP camera as the Samsung S22 5G and a huge 7.6-inch AMOLED screen. On top of all this, you can use a stylus, which makes you much more productive than anything else.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 Design and build

Samsung stuck with its well-known design language for the Galaxy Z Fold 4, so it doesn’t look all that different from its predecessor. It feels elegant and high-quality in your hand, and it looks better now that Samsung has reduced the bulge at the hinge and the space around the screen.

The back of the phone is made of glass and has a matte finish. The phone is made of metal. It also makes fingerprints and smudges less likely to stick. The Galaxy Z Fold4 is smaller and less bulky this time, but not by much. Samsung changed the hinge to make it thinner.

It also weighs only 263 grams, making it the lightest Z Fold. I could still feel the Z Fold4’s weight in my jeans pocket. This device is about twice as thick as a typical smartphone when it is closed.

Samsung Galaxy Fold4 Camera

Five cameras are built into the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4. It has the same 50MP main camera as the Galaxy S22, a 12MP ultrawide lens, and a 10MP telephoto sensor. Then, when you open the phone, you can see a 10MP camera on the cover showcase and a 4MP camera under the display.

These cameras are pretty good, but the One with the three lenses stands out. The 50MP sensor on the main camera is still much better than the 12MP sensor on the Z Fold 3. It has 4 times the resolution of the Z Fold3, and the image quality is better because it works with OIS.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4s main camera takes great pictures in bright sunlight. The pictures have the typical Samsung style of having a lot of color and saturation, which makes them look more lively.

The ultrawide lens keeps that good first impression and takes great pictures. It’s not the best ultrawide lens on a top-of-the-line phone, but it’s not bad. It gives you photos that are good enough to share on social media.

My favorite sensor is the 10MP telephoto lens with up to 3X optical zoom and up to 30X Space Zoom. Even though it takes a few seconds for the 30X Space Zoom to stabilize, the 3X optical zoom is good for most situations.

You can use the Nightography settings to take better pictures in low light, just like on the Galaxy S22. With Flex mode, you can take photos without using your hands. You can also use the Back Cam selfie mode to take great selfies with the back cameras while looking at them on the cover display.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 Battery Charging

The Galaxy Z Fold4 comes with the same 4,400 mAh battery that the Fold3 did. The two cells of this battery are on the right and left sides of a phone. The battery life is better than the Fold3, but it has a long way to go.

The phone can easily last for a day of light use, but it can’t last long. I could use the screen for about 7 hours, which isn’t bad, but I wish the battery cell were bigger. When it reaches to charge, the phone supports fast charging at 25W. Even this slow charging speed is a bit of a letdown at this price. On top of that, there isn’t a charger in the box like there usually is.

It takes a little over an hour for the 25W charger to fully charge the phone from 0% to 100%. The battery can also be charged to about 50% in 30 minutes. The Fold4 also has fast wireless charging and Wireless PowerShare, so you can charge your Galaxy Buds 2 Pro while charging the Fold4.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 Displays

On the internal of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is a big 7.6-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2176 x 1812 pixels. It has a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and is a great screen. This means the screen’s refresh rate can change from 1Hz to 120Hz, saving some battery.

Since it’s an AMOLED screen, it has deep blacks, bright colors, and an overall beautiful and silky smooth experience. This display is ideal for viewing FHD+ YouTube videos and 4K movies, playing demanding games, browsing Instagram and other social networking sites, and online browsing.

Now, let’s talk about what’s on the cover. It has an AMOLED screen that is 6.2 inches, which is about the same size as its predecessor. It also has a refresh rate of between 48Hz and 120Hz, which is 120Hz.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 Performances

Under the hood of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4, the latest Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset is paired with up to 12GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage. Using the RAM Plus feature, you can add up to 8GB of RAM for a total of 20GB of RAM.

The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 is a beast, and we’ve already seen it in several smartphones. The Z Fold4 is no different. This phone can do absolutely everything. The phone is very smooth and doesn’t jerk at all.

This phone is perfect for people who are much more productive and can do more than one thing at once. It can run many apps at once, even ones that use many resources. With a refresh rate of 120Hz, everything looks very smooth.

When we were talking about numbers, we did some benchmarks, and here are the results. Antutu gave the phone a score of 965760. On Geekbench 5, the phone got a single-core score of 1316 and a multi-core score of 3800.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4’s software and user interface

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 uses the Android 12L-based One UI 4 skin. Android 12L, you read that right. It’s made especially for phones like Fold4 that have bigger screens. Here, you can see a lot of new features and changes.

Let’s begin with the new Navigation bar at the bottom of the screen. This taskbar is like the One on your laptop, where you can see the most recently used apps and open them with a single tap.

Like before, you could use three apps simultaneously on the 7.6-inch screen. Not only that, but you can add more apps as popup windows on top of these three. I liked that I could drag a plugin from the taskbar to the left or right side of the screen to open it.

Conclusion

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4 is the best Android phone for a tech enthusiast like me who desires the ability to do everything on one device. With features like Samsung DeX, window function multitasking, split screen, and stylus support, the Z Fold 4 let you do anything you’ve ever wanted on Android. There are also some trade-offs, like how well the battery works and how slowly it charges. However, they are not big enough to ruin the experience.
